Overview
Kforce has a client in Irvine, CA that is seeking a Cybersecurity & InfoSec Architect to lead the design and implementation of our cybersecurity architecture. This role is essential in protecting our systems, applications, and infrastructure by embedding security into every layer of technology. The Cybersecurity & InfoSec Architect will collaborate with teams across IT, Legal, HR, Product, Engineering, and Compliance to ensure our security practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining enterprise security architecture aligned with business and IT goals.
Defining security requirements for new technologies and network designs.
Advising on cybersecurity trends, frameworks, and threat intelligence.
Implementing security tools such as firewalls, IAM, endpoint protection, and cloud security solutions.
Ensuring secure integration across cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem environments.
Leading evaluations and pilots of new security technologies.
Aligning architecture with frameworks like NIST, HITRUST, ISO 27001, and regulations including HIPAA, PCI‑DSS, and GDPR.
Collaborating with risk teams to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
Partnering with technical and business teams to embed security early in projects.
Mentoring junior security staff and providing escalation support.
Staying current on emerging threats and recommending policy improvements.
Supporting incident response with architectural guidance.
Requirements
CISSP or equivalent certification is required.
7+ years of experience in information security or a related field, with progressive responsibilities.
Strong grasp of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, HITRUST, PCI DSS), secure architecture principles, and cloud security models.
Practical experience with tools such as SIEM, EDR, IAM, DLP, PKI, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, and encryption technologies.
Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Expertise in identity management, authentication protocols, and access control strategies.
Deep understanding of threat vectors, attack methodologies, and defense mechanisms.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or a related discipline.
Background in regulated industries such as healthcare or financial services.
Pay Range $150,000 - $200,000 (subject to change based on experience and qualifications).
