System Administrators

to work in

Annapolis Junction, MD .

The System Administrator (SA) will provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. The SA will manage IT system infrastructure and processes related to client/server, storage, and network devices. This role includes both Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support, system configuration, performance optimization, and user assistance in accessing and utilizing IT systems.

Working both independently and as part of a team, the SA will ensure system reliability, security, and optimal performance through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for IT systems.

Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install and troubleshoot software, and maintain system integrity.

Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues while supporting system performance improvements.

Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support and elevate issues when necessary.

Conduct system capacity analysis, configuration documentation, and optimization activities.

Required Experience

A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Level 1: Five (5) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government. A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree totaling ten (10) years.

Level 2: Ten (10) years of experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree totaling fifteen (15) years.

Level 3: Fifteen (15) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government. A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree totaling twenty (20) years.

Security Clearance:

A current government clearance, background investigation, and polygraph are required.

Pay Range:

$49,996.80 - $290,004.00

Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
