Job Description
Electrical Controls Engineer with a strong background in Capital Projects Engineering, equipment modification, reliability design, and equipment rebuilds needed at local manufacturing company. You will work on the design, install, and maintenance of electrical, electronic, and control systems of the plant. Work with plant personnel in developing process solutions, and in maintaining overall plant capability.
This is a Controls Engineering position. There is an emphasis on Project Engineering to enhance safety, maintainability, and reliability of manufacturing equipment.
This is a project engineering position in which you will work with a multifunctional team to develop solutions.
Develop the scope and specifications for capital purchases.
Develop plans to mitigate risks as part of the project plan.
Track and forecast project schedule.
Work with vendors and contractors during the bid and contract phase.
Provide technical assistance to the plant instrument/electrical technicians for safety issues, National Electrical Code compliance and electrical problem resolution.
Qualifications BS Electrical Engineering plus at least three years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer in a manufacturing plant. Must have strong Project Engineering experience working in a team, especially with capital projects (CAPEX).
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of all facets of PLCs, industrial control and drive experience required, especially with Allen Bradley/Siemens controls.
Control systems design and tuning, HMI development (Wonderware, Ignition)experience desired.
Familiarity with industrial networks, variable drive systems
Experience mentoring and coaching technicians.
Understanding of high voltage machinery preferred
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Operations Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics, and OSHA regulations is preferred.
Project management task experience, including project definition, budgeting, bid procedure, contract specifications
