The Institutional Structuring Group supports the origination and maintenance of Structured Products in FX, Interest Rates and Commodities. This is an opportunity for a successful candidate to join as a Foreign Exchange Derivatives Structurer within the Institutional Structuring Group (ISG) in Toronto. ISG works closely with sales and trading to provide tailored derivative based solutions for clients looking to hedge exposures or express market views. We develop, price, market and execute trades across multiple asset classes with mutual benefit to the client and CIBC. The team also offers quantitative analysis, corporate finance solutions, financing solutions, quantitative/systematic strategy development, relative value solutions, portfolio hedging solutions among others. level based on skills and experience. How You’ll Succeed
Relationship building
– Become a leader within the structuring team and demonstrate excellence in performing daily activities and administrative tasks, including pro-actively generating product ideas that are value-add to our client-base and sales teams. Quickly and efficiently respond to pricing requests from sales and clients. Create and deliver presentations and educational seminars as well as perform various analytical tasks in support of new product development such as back-testing. Assist with the origination and management of the documentation process. Track noteworthy structured products released domestically and internationally Demonstrate initiative
- On your own initiative, develop product knowledge through directed or self-directed study including the ability to price and structure solutions across multiple asset classes beyond FX. Build an internal/external profile as a trusted advisor and “go-to” structurer, all while you ideate solutions and coordinate the execution process across multiple desks including sales, trading, legal, risk and other internal functions. Who You Are
You have an Undergraduate University degree
(Engineering or Math preferred) with 5+ years of knowledge and work experience in Derivatives, Interest Rates, FX, Equity or other institutional products. International Capital Markets experience would be an asset You give meaning to data . Excellent quantitative skills. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills. Excellent analytical and conceptual skills You know that details matter . Proven ability to pay close attention to detail. Efficient organizational skills to respond to shifting priorities on simultaneous projects You put our clients first . Able to quickly acquire knowledge, to demonstrate competence and to add value to the maintenance of internal processes and client relationships You communicate effectively . Proven ability to communicate complex financial information You are technically savvy . A working knowledge of PC applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Salesforce, Bloomberg) with coding experience in VBA/Python an asset. Values matter to you .
