Junior Electrical Engineer – Government Facilities Infrastructure
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Junior Level Electrical Engineer
to support the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical power systems and infrastructure within government facilities. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of facility electrical systems. The ideal candidate will contribute to both new and existing infrastructure projects, providing technical input, supporting maintenance strategies, and helping to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and layout of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems
Develop and maintain single-line diagrams, protection/control schematics, and equipment specifications
Participate in field inspections, functional testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, systems, vendors) to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions
Support evaluation and specification of electrical components such as transformers, switchgear, and UPS systems
Contribute to engineering documentation, technical reports, maintenance policies, and design packages
Assist with power system studies including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and grounding analysis
Gain hands‑on experience with SCADA systems, substation design, and renewable energy integration
Utilize AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office tools for design and documentation tasks
Basic Qualifications
Current TS/SCI security clearance
(required) and the ability to pass a polygraph after hiring
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2–4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of experience (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and their application to moderately complex systems
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering and project management teams
Experience in electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant standards
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
Awareness of energy efficiency and sustainable design practices
Exposure to medium-voltage systems, backup generators, data centers, UPS, and lighting control systems
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across electrical systems
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to leadership and clients
Preferred Qualifications
Current Polygraph
EIT (Engineer-in-Training) or PE (Professional Engineer) certification
Knowledge of SCADA systems, substation design, and renewable energy technologies
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and engineering documentation
Strong teamwork and communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration
Familiarity with project management practices including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
Detail‑oriented with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Experience with reactive maintenance of building electrical systems
EC‑DAS
