The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years related work experience. Experience in Structural design is required. Experience in the appropriate electronic applications and programs required for performing assignments to include but not limited to CADD or other electronic applications. Preferred software skillsets include: Bentley OpenBuildings, AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation 2D/3D and Bluebeam. Hybrid or flexible work options

may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments. Job Summary

Under general supervision, supports engineering teams by performing technical tasks that require an intermediate understanding of engineering principles and practices. Utilizes digital tools and design software (CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables. May begin to provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineering technicians. Key Responsibilities

Continues to learn and remains current on standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and Black & Veatch policies and procedures Quality / Continuous Improvement:

Proactively apply knowledge of the Black & Veatch Quality Program to ensure deliverables are accurate and compliant; demonstrate personal accuracy and support continuous improvement Engineering Production:

Broaden the use of applications to learn to continuously evaluate and improve methods, processes and procedures; Create and develop deliverables based on a variety of design inputs; May perform basic computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks Project Coordination:

Assist in coordinating deliverables with other groups involved on the same project to minimize interference or errors Client Focus:

Focus on the needs of internal clients while gaining basic understanding of external clients’ main interests and drivers Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology:

Proactively seek and share knowledge of latest technologies and processes Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Diploma or Certificate preferred; Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred; Typically a minimum of 3 years related work experience Preferred Non-Technical Skills:

Learning on the Fly, Problem Solving, Perseverance, Patience, Time Management, Drive for Results, Self Development, Listening, Informing Preferred Technical Skills:

Understanding and applying CADD, information modeling or other design/modelling tools; basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and policies; basic industry knowledge and technology trends; basic knowledge of company quality program; intermediate ability to interpret engineering deliverables; basic knowledge of other disciplines; basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices Minimum Qualifications
