$55.00/hr - $65.00/hr Summary: Seeking a skilled safety professional to support safety programs at our Cambridge MA Laboratories. This position will lead the contractor safety programs for site facilities services, lab services and construction projects. This role will also own key site safety programs and support laboratory safety for Company staff. Responsibilities
Lead the contractor safety programs for site facilities services, lab services and construction projects. This role will also own key site safety programs and support laboratory safety for Company staff. Manage the contractor safety programs for Company’s Cambridge, MA location Review safe permits to work and job hazard analysis submitted by contractors to ensure adherence to Company contractor safety requirements Partner with on-site service providers to improve contractor safety programs and culture Foster a culture of learning and psychological safety by building trust during routine facility walkthroughs and daily interactions Establish safe work procedures for hazardous work Provide expertise for several EHS programs including lock out tag out (LOTO), confined space entry, work at height, hot work and machine guarding Serve as EHS point of contact for key Process Development laboratories Partner with Company staff and contractors to correct inspection findings Respond to the scene in the event of on-site incidents and emergencies to ensure safety and environmental compliance Conduct thorough incident investigations and identify robust corrective actions Analyze incident and observation trends to identify and control new hazards with a focus on Serious Injury and Fatality Prevention Conduct in person contractor safety training Conduct EHS assessments for new or changing laboratory activities Attend lab safety inspections as a subject matter expert Lead or participate in safety related meetings including site safety committee, contractor safety team and EHS Leadership Governance Analyze metrics and establish quarterly action plans to drive continuous improvement Conduct program maturity assessments and audits to drive action and continuous improvement Develop written EHS SOPs and guidance documents as needed Basic Qualifications
Doctorate, or Master’s with 3 years, or Bachelor’s with 5 years, or Associate’s with 10 years, or High School/GED with 12 years of Operations or Manufacturing experience. Preferred Qualifications
5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry implementing industrial safety programs Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Risk evaluation and risk assessment experience Strong construction and contractor safety experience Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence management Strong presentation skills Action oriented, self-starting, program development and project management Strong technical writing skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets
Experience developing and reviewing OSHA compliant Job Hazard Analysis for a variety of high hazard activities (examples: safe use of hazardous materials, working at height / fall protection, control of hazardous energy or Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)) Strong interpersonal skills and experience coaching diverse populations on safety (performing safety job walks and inspections, demonstrates ability to effectively address safety concerns in the spot and proactively coach and plan for safe work) Effective public speaker and trainer on a variety of safety topics. The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $55.00 - $65.00/hr. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages. Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, 10 paid days off, 401(k) plan participation, commuter benefits and life and disability insurance.
