Location: Union Hospital, Dover, Ohio
Union Hospital’s Emergency Department provides top quality emergency care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our team focuses on providing treatment based on each individual patient’s specific needs. Our triage process assesses patients by the severity of illness and the needs of the patient, reducing wait times, facilitating registration, and accelerating treatment based on acuity. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey, interact directly with patients and their families, and provide healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this position works rotating days/evenings from 10:00 AM – 10:30 PM or 12:00 PM – 12:30 AM, with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within one year.
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon or within 24 months of hire.
One year of current acute care RN experience and/or Emergency Department (ED) experience. Military RN experience considered.
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
Requires full range of body motion including lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium work — exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Physical Demands are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
