Responsibilities

Director, Quality management responsibilities

include leading all aspects of Quality Assurance throughout the product development lifecycle for L3Harris Space Systems Sector of Space and Airborne Systems (SAS). Lead quality assurance across ~7 major manufacturing locations with direct supervision of ~195 quality personnel and 6 direct reports. Drive continual process and product improvement ensuring product and process integrity, customer satisfaction, and mission success while supporting sector quality, delivery, and cost targets. Collaborate with Program leadership, Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain; participate in hands-on leadership. Oversee Quality Engineering and Inspection functions, including quality planning, compliance monitoring, validation for programs, hardware, software and inspection. Resolve technical challenges, define and implement strategic quality vision, and promote a strong culture of quality across the organization. Develop and implement strategic quality initiatives and programs aligned with company procedures, government standards and directives, and proven methodologies. Ensure all phases of the customer life cycle meet mission requirements, from early involvement through post-delivery support. Coordinate with manufacturing engineering, operations and design engineering to ensure smooth hand-off to production, including design reviews and quality-focused concurrent engineering. Maintain quality records documenting quality status of material/products and supporting internal and external customer responses. Develop and review Work Package Descriptions for Quality tasks on proposals and contracts/projects. Improve efficiency through leadership, training, and process improvement; analyze key quality metrics to drive zero-defect plans and reduce rework. Report to senior leadership on business performance and action plans to improve execution and strategic initiatives. Maintain certification and compliance for AS9100, CMMI and other required certifications. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of related experience; Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years; in lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of related experience. Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance Preferred Additional Skills

In-depth knowledge of quality and reliability methods for hardware and software in aerospace/electronic industries. Green Belt or Black Belt certification or proven project leadership experience. Experience with Configuration Control management practices. Experience with Agile Oracle, Windchill, Cincom and/or Doors software suites. Experience with J-STD and IPC standard implementation. ASQ certification preferred; experience managing AS9100 certified business. Willingness to travel up to 20 percent Active TS security clearance or ability to obtain a DoD TS clearance 5+ years quality management or operations leadership experience. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including communications, facilitation, consulting, coaching, and influencing. Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve timely results.
