Overview As a Visual Merchandising Specialist at Wayfair, you’ll be the creative force behind our in‑store presentations, translating seasonal strategies and brand standards into inspiring, shoppable spaces. You’ll support floorsets, signage, merchandise flow, and visual operations that elevate the guest experience and drive business results. Whether you’re adjusting displays based on sales trends or jumping in to troubleshoot a layout mid‑shift, you bring flexibility, precision, and a collaborative spirit to everything you do.

Responsibilities

Own visual execution across the store, including seasonal floorsets, marketing signage, lighting displays, and basic installations such as wallpapering or electrical updates, all aligned with Wayfair’s brand standards.

Collaborate across departments to ensure visual priorities are well‑executed and adapted to sell‑through or sales trends as needed.

Conduct daily and weekly walk‑throughs using the Visual Merchandising Checklist to assess and improve store presentation with a sharp, strategic eye.

Demonstrate reliability by showing up on time and ready to go, ensuring a seamless guest experience from open to close and communicating proactively if challenges arise.

Adapt with agility, moving with urgency when priorities shift, such as product launches or visual priority pivots, staying calm, focused, and ready to execute.

Drive sales through visual impact by using product knowledge, judgment, and trend insights to make display decisions that enhance the guest experience and support sales.

Innovate and share ideas, consistently thinking creatively to improve display flow or introduce new styling concepts.

Embrace feedback, translating direction from store leaders and visual managers into polished, brand‑right execution.

Engage customers by interacting when needed to support a friendly, helpful, and visually inspiring shopping experience that reflects Wayfair’s commitment to service.

Thrive in a fast‑paced environment, working efficiently with dynamic priorities, new promotions, and evolving product assortments while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Visual merchandising experience: 1–3 years of in‑store visual merchandising, preferably in home furnishings or interior design.

Retail sales insight: 1–3 years of experience in customer‑facing sales roles, preferably in home goods, décor, or furnishings.

Planogram knowledge: Experience reading and executing store layouts or planograms.

Schedule flexibility: Ability to work a retail schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Organizational strength: Multitasking skills with top‑notch time management, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize on the fly.

Tech confidence: Comfortable using visual merchandising software, devices, and other store tools to support planning and execution.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and crawling.

Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.

Lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis; some projects may involve heavier items that require assistance or equipment.

Vision requirements: Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Temperature flexibility: Comfortable in environments with varying temperature conditions.

Noise tolerance: Occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and physical activity.

Safety awareness: Minimal exposure to workplace or environmental hazards; must adhere to all safety protocols.
