Description At Northrop Grumman, our employees work on revolutionary systems that impact people’s lives around the world. The Payload and Ground Systems division within Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is known for pushing innovation boundaries and driving advances in various sciences. We seek a Software Engineer to join our Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit to support a Ground program.

This position will be located at our Aurora, Colorado site and requires being onsite; remote or hybrid work is not supported.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 (Principal) or a level 4 (Sr. Principal), depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, document, test and debug application software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepare operating instructions; design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs and operating systems.

Ensure software standards are met.

Basic Requirements

Level 3 (Principal): Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5+ years of software development experience; 3+ years with a Master’s; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Level 4 (Sr. Principal): Bachelor’s degree in Science with 8+ years of software development experience; 6+ years with a Master’s; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Must have current Top Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application.

Experience developing in Java.

Experience with software design and architecture.

Experience with software unit testing.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with Microservice architecture and Object Oriented Design.

Preferred Requirements

Experience with Keycloak.

Experience with Node.js Framework.

Experience as a front‑end GUI designer and UI implementation.

Experience with MongoDB.

Experience with agile development.

Salary and Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 – $165,500.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 – $206,000.00.
