What this job involves JLL is seeking a Mobile Chief Engineer to oversee the operations of a state‑wide team of mobile engineers supporting multi‑agency properties. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the continuous operation of all building systems across a diverse portfolio while emphasizing hands‑on maintenance work and developing comprehensive maintenance strategies. This dynamic role requires strong leadership skills to manage and mentor maintenance staff while collaborating with facility managers to meet financial targets and ensure operational excellence. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining infrastructure compliance, managing major projects according to industry best practices, and serving as a role model for supporting team members across multiple locations.

What your day‑to‑day will look like

Oversee maintenance and continuous operation of building systems across a state‑wide portfolio while performing hands‑on maintenance work.

Develop and implement documented maintenance plans including preventive, predictive, and reactive procedures using CMMS systems.

Identify and address safety hazards, maintain PPE compliance, and administer safety training programs across multiple sites.

Keep detailed records of building rounds, engineering logs, and data sheets while ensuring infrastructure and compliance documentation.

Collaborate with facility managers to meet financial targets, handle budgets, and manage major projects according to industry best practices.

Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance staff while serving as on‑call support 24 hours per day for emergency response.

Travel between multiple buildings and sites while working in varying environmental conditions and maintaining regular attendance.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.

5+ years facility‑related work experience including customer service, leadership, and supervisory experience.

Certification as Universal Technician for CFCs required.

Technical expertise in HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting with multi‑skilled abilities in pipe fitting, plumbing, and electrical work.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel) and effective use of CMMS systems.

Experience in critical facilities, lab environments, and high‑rise environments.

Strong people management and team leading skills with ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

Corrigo CMMS knowledge and experience.

Finance and budgeting general knowledge to assist facility managers.

Experience with JLL Client Assurance Program (JCAP) administration.

Advanced certifications in building systems and maintenance.

Experience managing state‑wide or multi‑location operations.
