Overview
Job title: Field Service Manager
Location: Livermore or Modesto, CA
Reports to: Senior Field Service Manager
Summary: The Field Service Manager’s core responsibility is the HAC customer experience as well as training and developing the organization’s field service technicians. The role includes managing a team of service technicians, guidance and support for the HAC technician advancement program, technician follow up calls, in person training on all systems, customer in person visits and assisting on the direct contact for maintaining customer relationships. This position works with the Service Operations Manager to implement and manage HAC service procedures. The candidate should exhibit dynamic leadership and communication skills with an emphasis on team building and customer engagement.
Responsibilities
Develop a market strategy with the Service Operations Manager aimed toward account retention and services growth in the region.
Coordinate with the General Manager on activities/initiatives to improve the customer experience and store profitability.
Develop a team of knowledgeable and motivated Service Technicians and assist in helping them achieve their goals.
Provide training and billable service work as required.
Facilitate a plan to provide reliable 24-hour emergency service support for customers.
Identify potential service technician candidates and collaborate with HR to bring them onboard.
Assess performance of service technicians and ensure training and certifications are current.
Ensure technicians have working knowledge of company computer programs to fulfill responsibilities.
Maintain technician staffing at appropriate levels for business requirements.
Oversee warranty work in line with manufacturer guidelines and assist with documentation for claims processing.
Ensure professionalism of technicians, maintenance of trucks and tools, and maintain relations with the uniform supplier in alignment with Hitachi/Sullair branding.
Work with the EHS Manager to ensure compliance with EH&S policies and maintain a safe workplace.
Maintain a clean, safe working environment and stay current on product offerings and technologies through training.
Travel as required; 80% Field / 20% Office. Demonstrate flexibility to support business growth and multi-branch responsibilities as needed.
Education
Associate degree preferred but not required.
Technical Training/Certifications in the compressed air industry is a plus.
High School Diploma Required
Position Requirements
Five plus years of field service experience in the compressed air industry.
Proven leadership experience with strong written and verbal communication.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office suite.
Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
