At ShowLabs, the Art Director isn’t just a title—it’s the creative heartbeat of our work. This role is equal parts visionary leader and systems thinker, shaping the creative direction for some of the world’s most exciting apparel and outdoor brands. You’ll transform strategy into striking, conversion‑driving visuals that tell product stories with style and substance. As Art Director, you’ll be the connector—bridging brand teams, internal creatives, and studio operations to bring bold ideas to life at scale. From setting the visual tone to directing shoots on set, your eye for storytelling and knack for building scalable creative systems will ensure every piece of content both inspires and performs. We’re looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of artistry and commerce: someone with deep apparel/outdoor roots, a love of product storytelling, and proven experience turning massive product catalogs into consistent, compelling, and conversion‑ready experiences. Role Objectives
Partner with clients and internal teams to craft creative direction for ecommerce content, with a focus on apparel, outdoor, footwear, and accessory products. Develop creative frameworks that balance brand guidelines, product positioning, and ecommerce best practices. Lead decisions for visual storytelling, styling, and product presentation for PDP content. Ensure creative output aligns with client marketing goals, consumer expectations, and marketplace requirements (Amazon, DTC, wholesale). Research and present industry trends, consumer insights, and competitive content strategies to keep ShowLabs at the forefront of ecommerce creative. Work closely with Production Managers to scope creative needs, align resources, and set project workflows. Partner with Client Success Managers to present creative strategies, gather client feedback, and refine direction as projects evolve. Collaborate with photographers, videographers, stylists, and retouchers to push concepts from ideation to execution. Serve as the creative point of contact in client‑facing meetings, presenting visual strategies and ensuring alignment with brand expectations. Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability across all creative and production functions. Execution & Craft
Direct on‑set photography and video to capture products with accuracy, energy, and brand personality. Guide stylists to showcase apparel in ways that are both true‑to‑product and aspirational. Review final imagery to ensure ShowLabs is meeting the visual delivery expectations of our brand partners. Manage the casting team to ensure booked talent aligns with the client’s aesthetic and creative vision. Help clients optimize their PDP content for clarity, accuracy, and shopper engagement. Build scalable systems that allow creative excellence to shine across large, high‑volume catalogs. Creative Operations & Process
Define and uphold creative standards, style guides, and benchmarks across clients. Partner with production leads to balance workflow efficiency with uncompromising creative quality. Juggle multiple projects and deadlines while keeping creative bar high. Establish feedback systems that sharpen output and elevate client satisfaction. Contribute creative firepower to new business pitches, proposals, and onboarding. Qualifications
7+ years in art direction, creative direction, or studio leadership within apparel, footwear, outdoor, or related industries. Strong portfolio that demonstrates product photography direction, styling chops, and ecommerce storytelling. Expertise in PDP content creation for enterprise/global brands. Hands‑on experience leading photo/video shoots and shaping styling, set design, and lighting. Deep knowledge of ecommerce platforms (Amazon, Shopify, DTC, wholesale) and their requirements. Skilled communicator with client‑facing presentation experience. Proven leadership with the ability to inspire teams and scale creative frameworks. Comfortable navigating high‑volume content pipelines with precision and creativity. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent tools. What We Offer
The chance to lead creative direction for globally recognized brands. A fast‑moving, collaborative environment where artistry meets operational excellence. Access to cutting‑edge production technologies and workflows. Competitive pay, benefits, and growth opportunities. A culture that celebrates vision, craft, and the details that make work exceptional.
