Job Description Oversees supply acquisitions, restocking anesthesia carts and areas. Working with Chief CRNA or Anesthesiologist, he/she assures competencies for anesthesia techs are current and complete. Assures anesthesia machines are set-up and calibrated for all anesthesia areas. Works with Biomed to assure equipment is functioning or loaner equipment is available. Provides orientation for new techs. Manages work schedule and call schedule of anesthesia techs. Also provides in‑services for anesthesia techs on new technology, equipment, and supplies. Provides Chief CRNA or Anesthesiologist with input for performance review of anesthesia techs.
Your Job Requirements
Associate Degree in medically related field, or five years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech
B.S., B.A. or Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy
Respiratory Therapist Certification, LVN license, or Anesthesia Technician certification
Your Job Responsibilities
Assists surgery and anesthesia departments in risk management activities and complies with safety standards.
Assures terminal cleaning of anesthesia carts and equipment is completed at the end of each day.
Educates anesthesia technicians in the calibrating of anesthesia machines and equipment checks. Holds them accountable for calibrations and equipment checks.
Monitors anesthesia machines, set‑ups, and supplies to assure set‑ups are complete and supplies available for assigned procedures, rooms, or anesthetizing location.
Orders anesthesia supplies, stocks workroom and assures all anesthesia areas are stocked.
Oversees cleaning and restocking anesthesia carts and equipment after each use.
Removes broken or malfunctioning equipment from service. Works with Biomed department to assure repairs are completed or loaner equipment is available.
Communicates to appropriate personnel.
Responds immediately to overhead pagers and beeper calls.
Trains new anesthesia technicians and monitors performance. Retrains as required.
Provides Chief CRNA or Anesthesiologist input for performance review.
