FLETC Headquarters – Glynco, GA; or other FLETC Training Delivery Points (TDPs) in Artesia, NM; Charleston, SC; or Cheltenham, MD (including the Washington, DC Office). Some services may be performed remotely. The place of performance will be dependent on the awarded proposal.

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC), a component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is responsible for training and supporting the training of federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement officers‑as well as international partners‑who enforce laws, treaties, and regulations within the United States and abroad. Headquartered in Glynco, Georgia, with training delivery points in Artesia, New Mexico; Charleston, South Carolina; and Cheltenham, Maryland, FLETC ensures that law enforcement professionals across the nation are prepared to fulfill their duties safely and effectively. This program provides the full range of Information Technology (IT) Delivery and Operations Support Services (DOSS) required to sustain FLETC’s mission. The Network Engineer Team Lead plays a key role in maintaining and modernizing the IT network infrastructure supporting FLETC Headquarters, its TDPs, and partner organizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prioritize and oversee network outages, projects, and tasks while providing technical guidance and resolution support to ensure consistent network uptime and performance.
Design and implement operational network systems and prototypes based on current and future engineering data and government requirements.
Apply extensive knowledge of network principles, protocols, and design to evaluate and optimize network performance.
Collaborate with Network and System Engineers, equipment vendors, and other stakeholders to identify, define, and resolve technical or developmental challenges.
Communicate, coordinate, and resolve technical issues with OneNet/HSIN Engineering personnel across the DHS network topology, including DHS Data Centers (DCs).
Review and provide technical recommendations for all Infrastructure Change Control Board (ICCB) packets before submission.
Ensure all technical recommendations are communicated effectively and implemented correctly during network rollouts in coordination with local, OneNet/HSIN, and DC teams.
Lead the design, installation, configuration, backup, administration, management, upgrade, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of LAN, WAN, and network security hardware and software components to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
Maintain enterprise network infrastructure at optimal performance levels while ensuring adherence to DHS and FLETC security standards.
Supported Network Hardware and Technologies include (but are not limited to):
Routers
Core, distribution, and access layer switches
Firewalls
Web content filtering devices
Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS)
Qualifications REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Systems Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Network Engineering.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to obtain a USCIS Public Trust security clearance.
Demonstrated professionalism, courtesy, and effectiveness in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment.
DESIRED:
Network‑related certification, such as CompTIA Network+.
Professional certification in Cisco or HPE Aruba technologies (e.g., CCNP, Aruba Certified Professional).
Experience supporting federal law enforcement or DHS customers.
Experience with enterprise‑level network modernization and infrastructure optimization initiatives.
