Job Description Resident Network Engineer

This is a highly technical role, providing post‑sales on‑site support of Juniper Networks products. The Advanced Services Resident Engineer will develop and maintain expertise on the products deployed within the customer’s network.

Responsibilities

Lead design, architecture, operations, and support of Data Center networks for Juniper products (QFX, EX, Apstra, Junos) within the customer environment.

Configure, troubleshoot, and operate Layer 2 switching technologies, EVPN, multicast, OSPF, BGP, and associated tunneling technologies (GRE, VXLAN, etc.).

Apply automation frameworks, DevOps concepts, scripting, and programming (Kubernetes, Ansible, Python) to streamline network operations.

Provide technical analysis, design integration, documentation, and implementation advice on complex problems.

Report status, issues, and risks in project meetings.

Participate in all phases of development with emphasis on planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentations.

Assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements.

Travel as necessary.

Qualifications

Senior Network Engineering experience in Data Center network environments.

Strong knowledge of Juniper products (QFX, EX, Apstra, Junos).

Deep expertise in Layer 2 & Layer 3 protocols, multicast, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, tunneling.

Experience with automation, DevOps, scripting, and programming (Kubernetes, Ansible, Python).

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team, manage multiple projects and priorities.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE are a plus.

Clearance TS/SCI with CI polygraph.

Location & Travel Onsite support at Chantilly, VA and/or Richardson, TX (regionally remote). Travel as necessary.

Salary USD Annual Salary: $115,500.00 - $266,000.00
