Mainframe Developer

Our client is currently seeking a Mainframe Developer
About The Role We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with over 10 years of development experience to implement and test changes to mission‑critical COBOL/DB2 applications. You will work in an Agile/Scrum environment, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and leverage tools like JIRA and Confluence for task management and documentation.
Responsibilities
Develop and modify COBOL programs, copybooks, JCL, and DB2 stored procedures.
Perform unit testing for all code changes and additions (COBOL, copybooks, JCL, DB2 SPs).
Support QA during integration and regression testing; reproduce and diagnose defects.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand‑ups.
Coordinate with internal teams to validate dependencies and integrations.
Collaborate with external vendors to test and validate dependencies.
Document changes and testing results in Confluence; manage tasks and defects in JIRA.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong hands‑on experience in COBOL development.
Practical knowledge of DB2, including stored procedures.
Proficiency in JCL and z/OS/MVS operations.
Experience with unit testing for mainframe artifacts.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices and ceremonies.
Proficient in JIRA and Confluence for work management and documentation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ChangeMan or similar mainframe change/release tools.
Knowledge of VSAM, IMS, or other mainframe databases.
Exposure to mainframe debugging and performance tools.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
