Our Engineering customer purchased another firm last year. They are integrating the two organizations, and a location in N.J. now needs a Network Specialist. Because the team is smaller, the role covers imaging laptops, ensuring they are on the new domain, network protocols, Exchange and O365 support, and much more. The team wears many hats; candidates should be well‑rounded in networking and end‑user support.

Automation and integration work includes reimaging laptops, upgrading networking equipment, installing Meraki switches and access points, and migrating servers to new domains.

Objectives of this role

Provide technical support to end‑users in a professional manner over the phone, remotely, or in person for a network environment with 200+ users.

Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root causes and provide technical support.

Resolve technical issues following standard practice and company‑approved protocols.

Assist and collaborate on IT projects and deployments.

Travel to field offices occasionally for projects and specific support.

Willingness to work nights and weekends to support off‑hours migration events of mission‑critical systems.

Perform server administration tasks (e.g., user/group, security permissions, group policies).

Maintain internal infrastructure requirements, including laptops, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, and network segments.

Required Skills And Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Services, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Group Policies.

Experience in a hybrid network environment with on‑premises Windows 2012/2016/2019 and cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure AD, Exchange 365, Microsoft Intune.

Strong knowledge of Windows 10 & 11 and Microsoft O365 Suites.

Experience configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, and monitoring laptops, desktops, and servers.

Experience with network security, firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.

Experience with network‑deployed printers and large‑format plotters.

Experience supporting end users in a professional business environment.

Experience with deployment automation via scripting.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Cisco Webex.

Experience with wireless systems such as Aruba or Cisco Meraki.

Experience with MFA systems.

Experience with cloud‑based ticketing systems.

Additional Preferred Skills

Experience with Mimecast, Barracuda Email Protection, Cisco Duo, Microsoft Authenticator, Microsoft Intune, SolarWinds, XDR, RDP, Dameware, Quick Assist.

Knowledge of PDQ Deploy, SCCM, Windows GP, Acronis.

Pay And Benefits Pay range: $40.00–$50.00/hr.
