Overview

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is highly detail-oriented. The Staff Accountant will handle a high volume of transactional accounting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in daily financial activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Responsibilities

Perform daily accounting transactions, including posting journal entries, processing invoices, and reconciling accounts. Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers. Manage bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis. Prepare and post monthly journal entries and support month-end closing activities. Assist with general ledger maintenance and account analysis to ensure accuracy. Assist with month end close processes and assist the accounting team in closing multiple entities. Track and reconcile expense reports and petty cash. Support preparation of financial statements and reports for management. Assist with sales tax filings, 1099 reporting, and other compliance requirements. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial data. Experience Requirements

Associate’s degree in accounting or finance required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a high-volume transactional environment. Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles. Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting software. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.). Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information. SHOP Culture and Basic Skill Set Requirements
