The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for owning, implementing, and continuously improving Flexfab’s environmental, health, and safety programs. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, promotes a proactive safety culture, and supports environmental stewardship. The position partners across departments and levels of the organization to protect people, property, and the environment while advancing Flexfab’s mission and Humble HEARTS values.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Administer EHS programs and maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and MIOSHA standards.
Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments; identify and mitigate hazards.
Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and environmental events; document findings and corrective actions.
Manage reporting, recordkeeping, and regulatory documentation.
Develop and deliver EHS training and communication materials.
Coordinate environmental activities such as waste management, stormwater monitoring, and air permit compliance.
Maintain emergency preparedness and support the Emergency Response Team.
Track key metrics and provide analysis and recommendations to leadership.
Collaborate with HR, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations to drive engagement and accountability.
Facilitate meetings and action plans for the Safety Coalition to sustain cross-functional participation.
Success Measures
Regulatory compliance with zero major findings.
Timely closure of corrective actions from audits and inspections.
Measurable improvement in safety engagement and performance indicators.
Demonstrated professional growth toward leadership-level competency.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of practical EHS experience in manufacturing.
Working knowledge of safety and environmental standards.
Proven ability to manage multiple programs and priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and comfort learning EHS management systems.
Professional certifications are preferred.
Working Conditions Combination of office and manufacturing environments; frequent floor presence required. Must be able to stand, walk, and perform hands‑on inspections. Occasional travel to other U.S. sites may be required.
