Overview
Be among the first 25 applicants. Working/Functional Title: Kellogg Banquet/Catering Manager/S. Manages and coordinates events for Kellogg Center and Kellogg Catering at the hotel and other campus locations, including MSU athletic venues. Oversees the food service and set-up duties for all events to ensure high quality service. Prepares event bills. Plans and oversees training programs for event staff. Instructs and assists event staff in meal service, beverage service, work methods and procedures. Manages event details with the kitchen to ensure proper timing and smooth events. Provides analysis to forecast and support departmental strategic planning. Assists with special projects. Interviews, hires, schedules, trains and evaluates part-time team members. Manages food and beverage supplies, equipment and labor cost. All positions in RHS are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure or other emergency condition, employees are expected to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/suspension. If a remote work agreement exists, on-site work may be required to serve the MSU community. Responsibilities

Plan, develop and oversee training programs for event staff; instruct staff in meal and beverage service, proper work methods and procedures. Coordinate timing with the kitchen to ensure smooth event execution. Provide analysis to forecast needs and support strategic planning. Assist with special projects and interviews; hire, schedule, train and evaluate part-time staff. Manage food and beverage supplies, equipment and labor costs. Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to a four-year college degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management; General Business; or related field. One to three years of related experience in banquet/catering service, including proper meal service techniques, special events, food sanitation and safety, alcohol service with state regulations, food/beverage preparation and presentation, cost control and supervision, and menu planning. Possession of a valid chauffeur or commercial driver's license(s) with applicable endorsements and medical certificate; required by first day of employment. Good driving record and provision of driver’s license number for MVR check. Desired Qualifications
