Summary The Process Engineer manages the entire cement manufacturing process. This position analyzes the process and suggests ways to improve operations.

What you’ll be contributing

Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.

Analyze the cement production process and implement changes for optimal operating conditions for fuel efficiency, electrical efficiency and production rate.

Participate in the training of the control room operators on the proper use of plant equipment.

Work closely with shift process teams to ensure mills and pyro lines are consistently operated at peak efficiency.

Perform programming of the plant’s programmable control systems and provide maintenance, documentation and improvements for computerized process systems.

Perform performance testing and measurements on production equipment.

Maintain equipment performance records, including wear‑part life history.

Provide technical support to the Production Department to achieve objectives of maximizing plant production of quality‑controlled cement efficiently and cost‑effectively.

Optimize process by testing, data gathering, sampling and in‑house expertise to provide progressive solutions and enable continual improvement in the production process.

Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

4‑year Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/chemical engineering or closely related field is required.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a mechanical/chemical engineering or closely related position.

Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.

Proficient in analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to perform, organize and prioritize work independently.

Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills.

Knowledge of pyro processing, thermodynamics, heat transfer, air flow and related principles.

Knowledge of PLC systems and instrumentation techniques and guidelines.

Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly.

Ability to work from general policies and objectives.

Ability to refer to supervisor when clarification or interpretation of organizational policy is in question.
