Job Summary A Compatibility Lead will lead compatibility activities in products and systems, ensuring software quality and process improvement. They will lead a team, ensuring software and hardware products work seamlessly across various platforms and configurations. The role collaborates closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify compatibility requirements and test strategies, addressing project‑impacting issues, managing team performance and promoting best practices. It also involves training, technical workshops, and mentoring, crucial to delivering epic gaming experiences for customers and internal partners.

Responsibilities

Lead a team, ensuring alignment with senior leadership initiatives and strategy across globally distributed teams.

Collaborate with development leads and provide high‑value, quality‑related services to the products and areas assigned.

Oversee team test execution and reporting, ensuring the quality of all deliverables, workflows, and relationships. Host test closure activities, such as Testware evaluation, knowledge transfer, and retrospectives.

Oversee and support interoperability, performance, and network emulation tests across all platforms and provide detailed technical analysis of the results.

Oversee the build, troubleshoot, and maintain computer systems, servers, and virtual machines.

Support in developing and implementing scripts and tools to enhance test automation effectiveness and coverage.

Monitor and control metrics impacting product and team quality, analyzing product quality and usability, associated system limitations, and reporting on risk.

Provide support and leadership to the assigned team, ensuring their performance is managed effectively and fostering a productive, positive, collaborative work culture.

Review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) regularly and collaborate with senior leadership on shifting work or resources to promote test quality, software development best practices, and enhanced customer experience.

Lead and support projects and initiatives with regional teams, cross‑functional partners, and QA teams. Provide resources and assistance, oversee adherence to projects, contribute to the long‑term QA vision, and facilitate communication with stakeholders.

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 3 years experience in software or hardware testing.

Minimum of 1 year in leading teams or projects where there is a direct or indirect leadership role preferred.

Experience in test planning for complex features/systems.

Experience testing Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Experience in installing and maintaining all supported Windows and macOS operating systems.

High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.

Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), specifically QA processes in agile and waterfall environments.

Knowledge of computer processors, memory, graphics, network technologies, and virtual machines.

Knowledge of software development and debugging tools.

Proven ability to analyze and interpret data/workflows, recognize critical issues, and raise concerns.

Flexible and team‑oriented with excellent interpersonal and follow‑up skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, organization, and time‑management skills.

Preferred / Additional Skills

Advanced IT or software testing certifications.

ISTQB Certified Tester Expert Level (CTEL) or equivalent.

Coding knowledge: XML/HTML, JavaScript, Python, Java, C/C++/C#, SQL.

Certifications: PMP, Scrum Master and/or Product Owner, ISTQB.

Scripting or software tool creation experience; white‑box testing experience.

High level of gaming knowledge and/or skill.

Compensation In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $23.85–$44.12 per hour.
