This role is for someone who takes ownership of complex tasks and projects, can anticipate and respond to dynamic challenges in a fast-paced environment, and can independently prioritize activities to deliver results for a globally expanding business. AWS Aerospace Edge Services seeks a talented, innovative, and solutions‑oriented Technical Program Manager (Spectrum Manager) to manage and transform how customers leverage AWS services to build their businesses. This role applies deep domain knowledge of spectrum and regulatory regimes, in the US and internationally, to deliver global satellite systems and networks that support an international set of space customers. The role also interfaces with AWS Infrastructure to develop and execute a strategy for identifying, planning, and building new AWS Ground Station locations. The Technical Program Manager has successfully completed complex, multi‑discipline projects that included risk assessments, legal, and public policy aspects. This position requires that the candidate selected must be a US Citizen. Key job responsibilities
Own the global spectrum strategy and execution for service expansion and customer adoption Plan and coordinate the international spectrum licensing mechanisms for the AWS GS team Design, build, and own reports on key metrics that provide leadership with insights into spectrum licensing activities Articulate a plan with expected deliverables, timelines, and a formal tracking process to meet service readiness objectives Work with AWS Legal and public policy to determine appropriate country-by-country actions to receive approval to operate with our customers Develop a strategy to engage specific countries to shape regulatory environments for favorable outcomes Own the global infrastructure strategy and execution for service expansion Coordinate new infrastructure efforts for Aerospace Edge Solutions Write and deliver regular cadence executive‑level presentations against objectives Perform business analysis on spectrum and infrastructure (products/services, processes, systems and new regions) Articulate in writing a plan with deliverables, timelines and a formal tracking process to meet program objectives About the team
AWS Ground Station is a fully managed global Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) that enables customers to control satellites, ingest and process satellite data, and innovate with other AWS services. Experience managing programs across cross‑functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent 3+ years of technical product or program management experience 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and critical path management 3+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams Preferred Qualifications
