SNF Flopam, a subsidiary of SNF, is currently seeking a
Production Engineer II.
SNF Flopam is a new, state‑of‑the‑art facility located in Plaquemine, Louisiana. The position will report to the Powder Plant Technical Manager and provide technical leadership to the Powder Plant. This position is responsible for all technical aspects of assigned production assets. This includes continual improvement in all key performance indicators. This position will work closely with the other Plant Production Engineers, Plant Supervisors, Shift Supervisors and the Maintenance/Engineering department. Success in this role will likely lead to an Operations leadership career track.
Responsibilities
Maintain and monitor daily production and quality metrics as well as operation log books to insure optimal plant operation and accurate reporting
Continually optimize production operations to maximize the Efficiency and On‑Stream‑Time of the manufacturing equipment
Lead safety training, conduct behavior based safety audits, and provide a strong safety presence in the unit(s)
Develop and review standard operating procedures to meet ISO9001 and PSM requirements
Minimize/eliminate out of specification production by ensuring equipment is maintained in the condition that is required
Conduct thorough/appropriate non‑conforming product and customer complaint investigations necessary to identify root causes and effective corrective/preventive action to continuously reduce the amount of off‑spec production and customer complaints
Investigate/identify causes of waste generation in order to minimize the amount of waste generated
Apply troubleshooting/problem solving techniques and resources, as required, to quickly respond to many varieties of operational issues
Maintain and monitor raw material, packaging, and finished product inventory levels to maximize cost savings
Identify, communicate, and eliminate production bottlenecks with Engineering/Maintenance in order to continually maximize production capacities
Train the salaried and hourly staff, as appropriate, on technical matters
Qualifications EDUCATION: BS Degree, Chemical Engineering
EXPERIENCE: Required>> 3-5 years of relevant process engineering or production engineering
Beneficial>> Leadership experience in chemical plant operations
Working knowledge of PSM, Environmental, and other regulatory requirements
Knowledge of 5S and other Lean tools
Plant commissioning
