Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Service, the Senior Commercial Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of the Service Commercial Management team, overseeing day-to-day commercial business of existing BESS fleet and leading negotiations of large, complex long term service agreements (LTSAs) and high-impact special projects. This role manages a team of employees focused on daily commercial operations and personally leads the execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives that drive business growth and process improvement. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a passion for customer relationships, commercial strategy, and operational excellence. This role requires strong collaboration with partner groups (Grid Sales, Contract Management, Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, Service Engineering) to ensure successful delivery of routine and strategic objectives. Primary Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Strategy

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Commercial Service Managers and Specialists, ensuring effective handling of day-to-day commercial activities. Set strategic direction for the commercial service function, aligning team goals with organizational objectives. Own and drive the execution of special projects, including business process design, product development, and program launches. Lead negotiations of large, complex long-term service agreements (LTSAs) with sophisticated customers in conjunction with the Grid Sales team. Day-to-Day Business Operations

Oversee SOG (Service Offering Guide) and pricing strategies. Manage legacy account relationships, identifying and pursuing revenue opportunities from aging fleet support and transition beyond LTSAs. Ensure support for legacy accounts with parts and labor, in alignment with company policy (no new warranty contracts, but ongoing support where feasible). Monitor and report on unplanned revenue streams and corrective support activities. Identify key customer needs and present technical and commercial business proposals that address requirements. Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives

Lead the development and implementation of the Authorized Service Provider program. Oversee Warranty Tracking Process, ensuring obligations and coverage gaps are managed and handed off to Service Ops as appropriate. Champion contracting process improvements and cross-functional workshops (engaging consultants as needed). Drive P&L development, reporting, and improvement initiatives for the commercial service function. Develop new product offerings for service customers (e.g., battery-only clients), including combined PM/on-the-job training solutions. Manage challenging legacy issues, escalated contract disputes, and renegotiated contracts. Serve as the escalation point for complex commercial challenges and customer disputes. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Build strong relationships with internal partner groups (Grid Sales, Contract Management, Legal, Supply Chain, Finance, Service Engineering) to secure buy-in and resources for special projects. Coordinate with external consultants and stakeholders as needed for business process design and strategic initiatives. Support LG ES Vertech’s participation at various industry events as needed (conferences, trade shows, etc.). Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attitudes

Proven leadership and team development skills in a commercial service environment. Strategic thinker with the ability to balance immediate business needs and long-term growth initiatives. Strong project management skills; able to deliver multiple major special projects per year. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities, ability to clearly communicate technical, legal, and commercial matters. Ability to navigate complex customer relationships and contract negotiations. Experience driving process improvements and cross-functional collaboration. Highly organized, analytical, and adaptable to dynamic market and internal conditions. Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced work environment, often working under externally set time constraints. Ability to identify and implement short-term tactics to secure immediate business opportunities while developing and executing a successful long-term strategic business plan. Self-motivated individual, comfortable working both individually and within multi-national teams in a high-growth, dynamic markets. Capable of establishing relationships and trust with both external and internal stakeholders at varying levels of the organization. Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred. 7+ years of experience in commercial service management, ideally within the energy/electrical power industry, BESS Service Commercial Management would be a distinct advantage. Demonstrated success in leading commercial teams and achieving commercial and revenue targets. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business analytics tools. Willingness to travel on occasion, including domestic and international travel as required.
