Commercial and General Litigation Associate Attorney – Hybrid
We are seeking a Commercial And General Litigation Associate Attorney to become a part of our team.
The Associate will represent clients in legal proceedings, draft legal documents, advise on legal transactions, and manage litigation from inception to conclusion.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in court or before government agencies.
Prepare and draft pleadings, discovery documents, motions, and briefs.
Advise clients on business and legal transactions.
Negotiate settlements and represent clients in trial/ADR proceedings.
Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.
Maintain compliance with all legal standards and regulations.
Collaborate with senior attorneys to devise case strategies and manage discovery, including electronic discovery.
Take and defend depositions, and participate in court conferences and meetings via video platforms.
Maintain reasonable monthly billable hour requirements.
Manage day‑to‑day aspects of employment law and personal injury files under supervision.
Qualifications
Law degree from an ABA‑accredited law school.
Admission to practice law in New York (or ability to waive) and additional admission in federal courts preferred.
3+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build rapport with clients and work collaboratively with a team.
High level of organization and prioritization skills.
Proficiency with Zoom, MS Teams, and other video conferencing platforms.
Ability to travel for in‑person depositions and court conferences, including overnights as needed.
Experience and Skills
Experience drafting pleadings, discovery documents, and motions.
Familiarity with taking and defending depositions.
Experience in Federal Court preferred.
Advocacy skills and ability to represent clients in court.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet high performance standards.
Experience with online filing and research sites.
Compensation & Benefits Salary range commensurate with experience.
Attorneys are able to earn origination fees on clients brought to the firm through their own efforts.
Benefits include participation in retirement plans, comprehensive health and dental plans, and coverage of CLE registration fees, Bar Association dues and other professional expenses.
