Ensures proper patient identification, orders verification, and prepares the patient for the exam. Is sensitive to the patients’ needs throughout the procedure. Explains the procedure to facilitate cooperation and alleviate anxiety. Addresses patient concerns. Performs radiologic exams that produce quality images and ensure patient and staff safety by following protocols, correct patient positioning, appropriate use of equipment, and radiation protection guidelines. Utilizes sterile techniques for invasive procedures. Recognizes emergent patient situations and responds quickly and appropriately. Completes all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage. Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other providers following the procedure. Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment; ensures supplies and equipment are stored in an organized manner. Pursues individual education and career development opportunities, especially for new procedures and equipment. As appropriate, assist and instruct students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R); Radiologic technologist license in state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers; may be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist for clinic or InstaCare settings. Preferred Qualifications : 1-2 years radiology experience; IV Certification. Physical Requirements
Frequent interactions with patients and staff; ability to communicate clearly, including during emergencies. Manual dexterity to operate complex and delicate equipment; extensive computer use for documentation and information access. Ability to lift and transfer patients; ability to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights. Ability to walk, transport/ambulate patients, and navigate crowded rooms with equipment. May be required to stand in a stationary position for extended periods. Location and Schedule
