Associate Attorney-Commercial Litigation/ Bankruptcy -Hybrid
Mid-sized Syracuse law firm seeks a motivated attorney with 5+ years of legal experience in general commercial law and litigation, focusing on insolvency matters including consumer and commercial collections, contract and business disputes, liquidations, workouts, reorganizations, and secured lending.
This position requires excellent drafting and research skills; prior experience or familiarity with UCC, CPLR, and/or Bankruptcy Code will be given extra consideration. The successful candidate will manage litigation files independently and resolve legal disputes on behalf of clients both through in‑court litigation and negotiation, while building client relationships and delivering excellent customer experiences.
Hybrid work options available – some in‑office days required.
Experience and Requirements
Juris Doctorate from an ABA‑accredited law school
Admission in New York (or the ability to waive) required; additional admission in the federal courts preferred
Familiarity with Zoom, MS Teams, and other video conferencing platforms
Ability to travel as needed
High level of organization skills for prioritizing workload
Demonstrated ability to absorb, process, and understand new information rapidly
Conscientiousness, dedication, self‑discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility
Experience with online research sites
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities
Maintain high standards of performance
Experience with online filing and research sites

Compensation Salary range will be commensurate with experience. Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications, and skill set.
