The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is looking for a strategic and results-driven leader to lead and execute high-impact initiatives focused on optimizing our global real estate portfolio. GREF is responsible for Amazon’s corporate office portfolio, creating the spaces that inspire Amazonians to make history. This globally diverse team manages Amazon’s corporate offices in more than 60 countries. GREF provides real estate transactions expertise, business partnering, space and occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, facility maintenance, and operations, all contributing to the employee experience and leveraging places and programs to enable culture to thrive at Amazon.

Within GREF, the Global Strategy team creates real estate strategies for Amazon’s corporate office footprint and works with both internal and external stakeholders to manage execution globally. This team works closely with GREF’s Occupancy Planning, Space Planning, Transaction, Product, and Tech teams, as well as regional portfolio managers.

This role will play a critical part in reducing vacancy costs, enhancing space utilization, and aligning workplace strategy with business objectives. You will have the opportunity to develop critical global plans to ensure teams across all regions are acquiring, expanding, and shedding space strategically. You will work closely with key departments within GREF and organizations across Amazon to develop and determine mid and long-term portfolio optimization priorities.

The position requires strategic thinking, data-driven decision making, a customer centric mindset, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

A successful candidate for this role will have demonstrated success in highly ambiguous roles. A track record of delivering results in a fast paced, dynamic environment is a must. Being self-driven, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities is a key to success.

Key job responsibilities

Develop global optimization priorities to inform regional portfolio plans

Lead strategic analyses and develop mechanisms for regional teams to refine the company’s global real estate footprint, identifying opportunities to consolidate, repurpose, or divest underutilized assets.

Help define key KPIs for the global portfolio strategy and regional strategy teams it pertains to portfolio optimization

Contribute to long-range planning initiatives, including scenario planning and geographic growth strategies.

Working closely with regional teams to ensure global priorities and strategies are leveraged and adopted

Work cross-functionally with key partner teams to inform and evolve the global vision

Basic Qualifications

Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives and cross functional teams or equivalent

Bachelor's degree

8+ years of experience in strategy, corporate real estate, management consulting, or a related field, preferably within a tech or high-growth environment

Strong financial modeling, data analysis, and strategic problem-solving skills

Strong written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

MBA, or Master's degree

Familiarity with lease negotiation, space planning, or construction project management

Strong organizational planning and development skills in ambiguous environments

Conduct business and financial analysis, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting

Superior analytical and quantitative skills, including ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems

An entrepreneurial drive; proven ability to influence others

Track record of performance excellence

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
