IT Applications Engineer III, Mobile – Android, Java
Our client is seeking an experienced IT Applications Engineer III, Mobile – Android (Java/Kotlin) to design, build, and maintain high-performing native mobile applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Android development, testing, and deployment, along with strong collaboration skills to deliver seamless user experiences.
This role is mostly remote with 1 day onsite a week. Candidates must be located in Greenwood Village, Colorado OR Atlanta, Georgia.
IT Applications Engineer Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support native Android applications using Java and Kotlin. Implement scalable, maintainable architecture patterns such as MVVM to ensure clean code structure. Develop and execute automated UI tests using Espresso and integrate them within CI/CD workflows. Manage app signing, configuration, and build variants, including provisioning profiles, certificates, entitlements, flavors, and schemes. Integrate APIs and web services, ensuring secure, efficient, and optimized data handling with caching and error management. Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including product, UX, QA, and DevOps to deliver consistent mobile experiences. Incorporate dynamic content through integration with content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Implement and maintain third‑party SDKs and libraries, ensuring compatibility and performance stability. Stay informed of mobile technology trends, tools, and platform updates to ensure applications remain innovative and competitive. Follow Agile principles to plan, prioritize, and execute feature development and defect resolution. IT Applications Engineer Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 4 years of experience developing Android applications using Java and/or Kotlin. At least 3 years of experience managing native mobile app build processes, signing workflows, and build configurations. Minimum of 2 years of experience developing automated tests using Espresso or XCUITest. 3 or more years of experience integrating third‑party SDKs, libraries, and APIs. 2 or more years of experience integrating with content management systems such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication methods, and performance optimization. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD environments. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams. Experience with both Android and iOS platforms is a plus. Salary: $108K-$133K/year + Bonus (DOE) Benefits
