Position Summary The Assistant Residential Manager plays a dual role of leadership and direct support within GIL Foundation’s Adults with Disabilities Program. This position assists in managing daily operations while also working hands‑on with clients to support their personal care, daily living, and community participation. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, and skilled in leading a team while maintaining a person-centered, respectful approach to client care.
Second Shift Full Time Schedule:
Sun- 2pm-10pm
Mon‑Tues 12pm-10pm
Wed‑Thurs 12p-6p
Fri‑Sat OFF
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Program Manager in overseeing daily program operations and staff supervision.
Provide direct, hands‑on support to adults with disabilities, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, toileting, and mobility as needed.
Support clients in developing and maintaining daily living skills, social skills, and independence.
Assist with implementing individual service plans (ISPs) and behavioral support strategies.
Coordinate and participate in recreational and community inclusion activities.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and attendance records.
Ensure all staff follow agency policies and state/federal regulations.
Support scheduling, staff training, and performance evaluations.
Communicate effectively with families, guardians, case managers, and outside agencies.
Uphold health and safety protocols and report any concerns immediately.
Serve as acting Program Manager in their absence to ensure continuity of care and operations.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience working directly with adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
At least 1 year of supervisory or lead staff experience preferred.
Must be comfortable providing hands‑on care including bathing, feeding, and other daily living supports.
Knowledge of DDS regulations, person-centered care, and crisis intervention strategies.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and documentation systems.
Must have a valid Connecticut driver’s license, reliable transportation, and pass all required background checks.
