The job involves working within the administration team that supports Community Midwifery at UHBW in a clerical capacity. The role is essential to improving communication between the hospital and community setting to ensure that all pregnant people accessing our service, receive a responsive and effective service.

Main duties of the job The main duties of the job are;

Work within a team to provide clerical support to community midwifery and the community midwifery matron

Take calls from and communicate with pregnant people, providing administrative support and forwarding pregnancy concerns on to their named midwives.

Person Specification Knowledge and Experience

Recent experience in administration or office setting

Information processing

Basic knowledge of procurement using an IT system

Recent experience in customer facing environment

Skills and Abilities

Good interpersonal skills

Able to respond well to instruction and constructive criticism.

Respect for staff /patient confidentiality

A kind and compassionate approach to women and their families is essential

The successful candidate should be able to integrate into an existing team

An ability to recognise own limitations and to refer for help is essential

A sense of responsibility and initiative is key to this role

Reliable and Flexible

Well presented ,polite, with a mature attitude to people and work.

Qualifications and Training

Able to evidence numeracy and literacy skills

NVQ level 3 or 5 GCSES at A-C
