Classification Administrator II. Salary Range: $5,053 – $16,221 per month. (Hiring range depends on qualifications, not expected to exceed $7,500 – $9,200 per month).

Employment Details At‑Will, Full‑Time, Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Job Summary As the Director of the Veterans Resource Center, you will provide strategic leadership and oversee comprehensive services for military‑connected students, aligning all efforts with the University’s strategic plan and Student Affairs goals. You will develop, implement, and evaluate programs, forge partnerships with faculty, staff, and community agencies, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and county guidelines.

About the Position The Veteran’s Resource Center supports students academically, personally, and professionally. The director leads the center’s overall operations, builds effective working relationships, and is responsible for staff management, program planning, and resource coordination.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and guidance for the Veterans Resource Center.

Develop, plan, and implement comprehensive services and programs that support veterans’ academic and professional success.

Ensure alignment of center activities with the University’s and Student Affairs strategic plan and goals.

Build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and community partners to provide student support, referrals, and access to resources.

Interview, hire, supervise, and train full‑time staff, student assistants, and interns.

Ensure campus compliance with all federal, state, and county guidelines and policies.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications • Master’s degree from an accredited four‑year institution and a minimum of five years progressive student‑affairs experience in student retention and/or success programs on a university campus. • Working knowledge and experience of college‑based veteran support programs and the holistic advising process. • Knowledge of veteran benefits, certification processes, and program management practices. • Ability to interpret and apply program policies, use initiative, and resourcefulness in planning work assignments. • Ability to advise students individually and in groups. • Excellent written and oral communication skills for collaboration with faculty, staff, and administrators. • Proficiency with computers and common software. • Successful completion of a criminal background check (including a criminal records check) is required.

Preferred Qualifications • Thorough knowledge of veteran college‑student issues, financial assistance, VA programs, certification, and community agencies. • Demonstrated leadership and management skills in directing work, planning, and implementation of programs, services, and events. • Experience with community outreach, staff supervision, program evaluation, grant writing, and fundraising.
