Role In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with multidisciplinary engineers focused on designing and delivering Re-entry Vehicles for the Targets and Countermeasures Program (TCP). As an Engineer, you will work with a diverse work force responsible for the development, design, fabrication, testing, and delivery of hardware.

Job responsibilities

Generate and maintain models which simulate mechanical loading conditions and vehicle separation events

Perform loads development (primary structure and component level)

Determine vehicle and component shock and vibration environments

Perform structural dynamic analyses for re-entry vehicles

Support component and system level testing and data evaluation

Prepare test plans for static, separation dynamics, vibration, modal and shock test execution, and post-test reports

Support dynamic test definitions, requirements development, test monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis efforts

LI-CS1

Basic Qualifications

Solid understanding of structures and structural dynamics either through education and work experience

Proficiency in application of finite element analysis principles

Experience with NX/NASTRAN finite element modeling or equivalent

Knowledge of and applicable experience with launch vehicle structural dynamic methods

Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Skills

Generally, 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3+ years of relevant experience with a Master's

Experience with NX/Nastran, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Matlab, Mathcad and CREO

Experience evaluating designs using rigid body or flexible body analysis methods and tools

Static, vibration, acoustic, modal, shock test experience of aerospace flight hardware

Active DoD Secret security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

9x80 every other Friday off
