Job Title Financial Analyst
Job Description Summary This role works closely with AAM’s global procurement organization to support its role in budget and forecast development, sourcing decisions, supplier risk analysis, Sarbanes-Oxley self-testing, automated PO price updates related to market-based index changes and verification of support required for PO updates.
Responsibilities
Monitor AAM supplier’s financial condition and provide ongoing risk assessment analysis
Assist in providing AAM manufacturing locations with forecast guidance and actual performance vs. budget direction as it relates to direct material
Assist in the development of AAM’s budget as it relates to raw material productivity
Assist in providing management with scorecard on direct material procurement’s financial performance vs. budget
Assist in holding procurement accountable to comply with policies and procedures as it relates to sourcing and price change management
Support sourcing decisions, by providing procurement with discounted cash flow comparison of potential sourcing options
Assist with periodic Sarbanes-Oxley testing requirements
Provide support related to our key projects including headwinds reporting, PPV forecasting & improved functionality within our customer/supplier metal market automation functionality
All other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Education
0 - 3 plus year’s professional experience
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Quantitative Analytics or Data Science
Preferred Skills and Education
Candidates with the ability to transform processes requiring manual inputs and replacing them with automated processes are preferred
Candidates with knowledge of MS Excel features like VBA, Power Query or have experience with R, Python, C++ are highly desired for this role
Proficient with Microsoft office products – Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook
Positive “can do” attitude
Seeks to understand why things are done the way they are currently done and challenges team to find ways to improve
