Basic Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship Required.
Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years related technical experience required.
Experience working with development languages such as JavaScript, Angular/React/Vue, Java, and Python.
Experience developing and working with APIs.
Experience with DevOps tools Atlassian JIRA, Jenkins Continuous Integration, and GIT repositories.
Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts.
Prior experience working in an Agile software development environment.
Experience with professional software development practices, such as source code management, code reviews, and testing.
A demonstrated ability to pick up new programming languages and technologies quickly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to FAA programs or NAS systems.
Advanced knowledge of aviation systems, UAS integration, AI applications, or satellite navigation systems.
Familiarity with FAA research environments or facilities like the William J. Hughes Technical Center.
Familiarity with FAA regulations, national airspace policies, or international aviation standards (e.g., ICAO).
Hands‑on experience with data analysis tools, modeling and simulation platforms, or advanced software development environments used in aviation research.
Experience with SAFe Agile testing environments.
Experience with GitLab CI/CD Test Automation Pipeline & Reporting.
Experience with AWS development, including EC2, API Gateway, etc.
Hands‑on development experience in AI/ML model building and tuning.
Experience in large language models.

In this position, you will:
Collaborate with leading experts in government, academia, and industry to address some of the most complex challenges in modern aviation.
Contribute to critical research programs at premier facilities such as the William J. Hughes Technical Center, where cutting‑edge simulations and testing shape the National Airspace System (NAS).
Bridge research and operational application, ensuring innovative solutions are practical, safe, and ready for deployment across the aviation ecosystem.
Conduct and guide research and development on technologies supporting the NAS, airport infrastructure, and air traffic management.
Lead or contribute to design, testing, and innovation initiatives for next‑generation aviation systems.
Conceive, specify, design, program, document, test, bug fix and patch software applications, both frontend and backend, as part of a team.
Lead the design and implementation of custom web application toward dynamic requirements.
Need to be in‑tune with changing requests and adapt accordingly.
Research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements.
Design and develop new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
Address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
Participate in development of software user manuals.
May support additional areas of the application as team needs change.
May analyze/design databases and/or assist in architecting cloud environments within an application area, working individually or coordinating as part of a team.
