Overview
UMass Memorial Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible pediatric hematologist-oncologist at the assistant or associate professor level for Worcester, MA. The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology offers a comprehensive program in a collaborative, research-oriented environment with opportunities for clinical, translational, and population research. The UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center is the only tertiary care hospital for children in central Massachusetts, offering a full range of pediatric subspecialties, a pediatric intensive care unit, a level 3 NICU, and dedicated pediatric emergency and trauma services. The division is staffed with four physicians and two nurse practitioners after hiring, and participates in the Children’s Oncology Group. The department fosters a collegial, multidisciplinary environment with opportunities for professional development and partnership with other pediatric specialists and community pediatricians. The successful candidate will join a growing faculty engaged in basic, clinical, translational, and population research within institutes and centers that support RNA therapeutics, gene therapy, and molecular biology. Responsibilities
Provide high-quality clinical care for children and adolescents with hematologic and oncologic disorders. Engage in teaching for medical students and residents. Participate in clinical or translational research activities as appropriate. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a vibrant, mission-driven department. Qualifications
Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. Ability to obtain a medical license in Massachusetts. Commitment to the academic mission and evidence of research productivity as appropriate. Interest in caring for underserved and disadvantaged populations with a focus on child health equity.
