Position Overview
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.
Location Located in the Rogue Valley, White City allows easy access to the Metro-area of Medford while remaining engrossed with nature. White City is an unincorporated community in Jackson County, Oregon, in the Rogue Valley. It is about nine miles north of Medford and 34 miles north of the California border. Enjoy the scenic drives to Crater Lake and Lake of the Woods. Take a family-friendly hike to a waterfall or ride the Pacific Crest Trail.

Compensation and Time Off Competitive salary, annual performance bonus; regular salary increases. 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).
Retirement and Insurance Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care; many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement.
Licensure and CME 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement for CME (must be full-time with board certification).
Malpractice and Contract Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
Key Responsibilities The Physician (Psychiatry Lead) provides oversight of the practice of psychiatry as well as direct patient care including comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment to Veterans within the Behavioral Health Service Line. The Psychiatry Lead oversees the practice of psychiatric prescribing within all behavioral health services at the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Oversight of psychiatric practice
Direct patient care and psychiatric assessment
Prescription management across behavioral health services
Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
