The Specialist shal be responsible to ensure that data gathered and entered to the computer system(s) of patient demographic and benefit information is accurate. The Specialist shall verify benefits eligibility and limitations, coordination of benefits, as well as to determine and collect the patient's financial responsibility at the point of service. Additionally, the Specialist shall have an understanding of regulatory requirements (medical necessity determination, Medicare Secondary Payer completion and coordination of benefits, Important Message from Medicare issuance and signage, HIPAA, and EMTALA). This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.**Education / Experience**:High school graduate or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in healthcare or business-related field preferred.
Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) desirable. At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
Training experience a plus. Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.**License / Certification**:None**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:* Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.* Strong team leadership skills, strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.* Must be able to meet strict deadlines.* Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and excellent organizational skills.* Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.* Ability to develop trust with leaders in the organizations.* Strong written and oral communication skills, proficient computer skills, proven track record of successful performance.* Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions.* Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.**Primary Location:**Baptist Health Resource Center**Job:**Patient Registration SpecialistPatient Registration Specialist**Job Type:**Regular-Full time**Shift**:First Shift (United States of America) #J-18808-Ljbffr
