Account Manager – Raw Material Chemicals to the Car Care and HI&I Markets

If you are a successful raw material chemical sales professional looking for an excellent income and career growth opportunity, here’s your chance to join a growing regional specialty chemical company. Our client is looking for a high-energy “hunter” to fill a home-based sales position, ideally located in the Greater Los Angeles area. Overnight travel is expected to be ~10%.
Responsibilities Sell a broad range of raw material specialty chemicals & commodity chemicals to the Car Care and HI&I manufacturing markets in Southern California. This is technical and commercial selling, calling on chemists, formulators, and purchasing. There would also be prospecting, new business development, and cold calling responsibilities. Manage all pricing and account strategies. Grow the business, both at existing accounts, but also by adding new accounts.
Requirements 4+ years of experience selling specialty chemicals or commodity chemicals. Knowledge of the Car Care and/or HI&I manufacturing markets is preferred. Experience with a distributor, selling silicone fluids and emulsions, or surfactants is a major plus. A bachelor’s degree is required - Chemistry (or related), or Business is preferred. High energy “hunter” with proven sales success in the region. Willingness to travel overnight as needed.
Company Information Regional raw material specialty chemical company.
Compensation Base salary: $120,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience. Plus, lucrative monthly commission plan based solely on individual performance. $30,000 per year is a realistic average, but there is no cap, and it can be much higher. Generous car allowance. Excellent company benefits (healthcare plan 100% paid by the company).
