Job Summary

The Level II Audiologist spends 30% to 50% of time worked performing cochlear implant procedures and/or intra-operative monitoring. In addition, the Level II Audiologist provides comprehensive audiological case management which includes administering diagnostic audiological tests that allow the differentiation between types of hearing disorders, coordinating and interpreting test results, consulting with and recommending optimum treatment program on hearing disorders to physicians. Essential Responsibilities

Performs cochlear implant procedures and/or intra-operative monitoring 30-50% of time worked. Provides diagnostic evaluation of hearing, prevention, habilitation and rehabilitation services for auditory problems and research relating to hearing and attendant disorders. Physically and otoscopically examines the outer structures of the ear. Procedures may include evaluation, fitting and dispensing of hearing aids; cochlear implant assessment, programming and rehabilitation; and electrophysiologic evaluation of the vestibular and auditory mechanisms, in addition to electrocoustic measures of the peripheral and central auditory systems. Counsels individuals with auditory disorders, their families and other service providers regarding the etiology of the disorder and its management. Provides reports and coordinates audiological results with other diagnostic data such as educational, medical, social and behavioral information. Consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors. Experience

One year experience in cochlear implant procedures and/or intra-operative monitoring.

Education

Masters degree in Audiology required.

License, Certification, Registration

Audiologist License (California) National Provider Identifier required at hire Basic Life Support required at hire

CI Certification preferred. Certificate of clinical competency in audiology preferred. Proficient in diagnostic evaluation of hearing, prevention, habilitation and rehabilitation services for auditory problems. Certificate of clinical competency in audiology preferred.
