City of New Smyrna Beach Public Works Department Facilities Manager | 124 Industrial Park Ave, NSB FL 32168 | Annual Salary $70,164.18 Job Summary Under the supervision of the Public Works Director, this position serves as a manager with an extensive knowledge of parks, grounds, medians, and irrigation. Oversees parks and grounds maintenance, schedules and inspects work performed by maintenance crews, playground equipment, and other park and City related properties.
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or GED required; supplemented by minimum three (3) years previous experience in the oversight of work crews, and grounds and landscape maintenance techniques.
Any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
Licenses and Certifications:
CPR and First-Aid certifications required and must be obtained, and maintained, within six (6) months of appointment to position.
Playground Inspection certification, Irrigation Design certification and Restricted Use of Pesticide license for Public – Ornamental Turf and Core certification desired.
Knowledge of:
Principles and practices of equipment maintenance, repair and installation.
Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
Basic budgetary principles and practices.
Administration of staff and activities, either directly or through subordinate supervision.
Computer applications related to the work.
Roadway and grounds maintenance.
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
