Position Summary The Marketing and Development Coordinator supports Breaking Free’s mission by helping to share our story through social media, marketing materials, fundraising efforts, and grant writing. This entry-level coordinator role is ideal for a creative, organized, and motivated individual eager to learn and grow in nonprofit marketing, development, and grant writing. The position reports directly to the CEO and works closely with leadership to promote Breaking Free’s programs and impact.

Key Responsibilities Social Media and Communications

Create and schedule posts for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms.

Share program highlights, upcoming events, and success stories that reflect Breaking Free’s mission.

Assist in drafting newsletters, email updates, and website content.

Monitor engagement and help respond to comments or messages.

Marketing and Content Creation

Design digital and print materials such as flyers, event invitations, and brochures.

Collect photos and stories from staff and events for use in communications.

Ensure all materials align with Breaking Free’s branding and messaging.

Support event promotion through social media and community outreach.

Fundraising and Grant Writing

Assist with donor communications, mailings, and online giving campaigns.

Support grant research, drafting, and reporting under the supervision of the CEO and Director of Finance.

Help maintain donor and grant tracking databases.

Support the planning and logistics of fundraising and awareness events.

Administrative Support

Assist the CEO with marketing, development, and grant-related tasks and special projects.

Organize and maintain marketing and fundraising files and records.

Qualifications

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar).

Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).

Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects.

Eagerness to learn about nonprofit marketing, development, and grant writing.

Commitment to Breaking Free’s mission of ending sex trafficking and supporting survivors.
