The shipping supervisor oversees the transportation of goods from the manufacturing plant to the customers. From building the loads to verifying the load count, to monitoring trailers until they deliver, this position will be completely accountable for the shipping of our product. Direct, lead, and motivate team to achieve company targets.
Uses MRP system to build loads to meet market demand.
Responsible for tracking and reporting budget related to financial obligations of freight. Freight cost per tire, Freight cost per ton, Load volume and weight.
Monitor and oversee outgoing shipping activities to ensure loads are picked up on time to make scheduled deliveries.
Actively monitors OEM shipment to ensure they deliver as scheduled.
Coordinating with other departments within the company to ensure that shipments meet legal requirements.
Actively supervise 4 shipping clerks which will help aid in the monitoring, billing, and tracking of shipments.
Participate in hiring and training of personnel. Shipping Clerks.
Help resolve all shipping-related issues that may arise in the company.
Monitor trailer yard to prevent detention and keep equipment rotated. Ensure system data is accurate.
Send shipping data to vendors to be uploaded for trailer inspections.
Store and maintain records for 10 years as required.
Assist in loading truck as needed to supply the market with our product.
Accurately receive, store, and process transactions material shipped or received.
Follow standard practices and perform all work promptly and accurately, obtaining quality and productivity objectives.
Remain flexible to work where need arises.
Supervise Shipping clerks to ensure daily duties and load monitoring is completed.
Be the back to the warehouse Superintendent.
Follow all plant, environmental, safety, quality, and departmental policies.
Safely operate and care for forklifts, spotter truck, and other material handling equipment as needed.
Support inventory accuracy through daily operations, cycle counts, and physical inventories
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Bachelor Degree and 2+ years of Warehousing/Shipping and/or Receiving Experience OR 5+ years of related experience if no degree
Strong communication skills
Strong computer skills. MS Office
Ability to resolve problems.
Ability to work as a part of a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently from floor to shoulder height.

Able to walk long distances and stand for extended periods of time
Able to mount and dismount from forklifts.
