Patients Accounts Coordinator - Temporary Services (T226675)
Description The University of Alabama at Birmingham Temporary Services is seeking a Patient Account Coordinator to conduct third‑party claims activities, ensure billing edits are corrected timely, work with external claim payers, and resolve accounts with billing issues or credit balances. The role audits EOBs and other documents to research accounts, handles patient calls, and works on accounts that require advanced review. The Coordinator may also work with walk‑in patients and assist patients in financial planning for dental services.
Responsibilities
Provide customer service via phone and in person.
Process patient accounts: identify delinquent accounts, counsel patients, handle insurance claims, and prepare various reports.
Set up new patient accounts and perform data entry of charges, payments, and adjustments; prepare and submit bills for payment.
Balance and post collected money as needed.
Monitor outstanding balances on the accounts.
Qualifications High School Diploma with 5 years related experience.
