Overview

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to investigate novel CAR T‑cell therapies and other immunotherapies in preclinical models of childhood neuroblastoma. This position is in the laboratory of Dr. Shahab Asgharzadeh within the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI) at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, in affiliation with the Keck School of Medicine and the University of Southern California. The Research Post‑Doc Fellow is in training to help develop the academic knowledge and research fundamentals, teaching expertise and administrative experience necessary to be an exemplary researcher. Responsibilities include performing laboratory work, conducting research activities independently or in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, publishing results in scientific manuscripts and research publications, and participating in seminars, meetings, trainings and other educational sessions. Dr. Asgharzadeh’s lab focuses on understanding immunotherapies and their interaction with the tumor microenvironment using mouse models of neuroblastoma. Candidates should have a strong background in immunology and molecular biology. The postdoctoral fellow will benefit from collaboration with a large network of investigators studying the tumor microenvironment at CBDI, The Saban Research Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center at USC. Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience

Exposure to and/or experience in research in a healthcare environment preferred. Education / Licensure / Certification

MD and/or PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree. Applicants must have completed their doctoral degree by their anticipated start date. Pay Scale Information

USD $69,056.00 - $114,067.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
