This is a College of Graduate Nursing administration-level position within Western University of Health Sciences and is offered in conjunction with a faculty appointment. Together, the administrative role of Director of PMHNP Program and the faculty appointment (PCN F01612) comprise a full-time position (1.0 FTE / 5 days per week). The Director leads, administrates, manages financial and human resources, student development, and teaching. The PMHNP program directs MS in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs and postgraduate PMHNP Certificate, promoting strategic partnerships to increase visibility, engagement, and integration within the College, University, and Community. Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities – Leadership Serves as a member of the university and college community via university committee membership and service. Member of the CGN Executive Leadership Team (Directors/Assistant and Associate Deans). Promotes collegiality via respectful communication to foster a culture of respect, integrity, collaboration, and transparency in the College of Graduate Nursing. Integrates initiatives with other Directors of the DNP program tracks. Key Responsibilities – Administration Chairs the PMHNP Program meeting and at least one other CGN committee. Develops and oversees a systematic planning process to facilitate and improve the PMHNP program to meet its goals and objectives. Ensures quality of the program to meet state, national and professional accreditation standards. Develops SQIP process measuring program and student outcomes aligned with institution learning outcomes and college mission. The SQIP process includes outcomes on course maps, attrition, on-time graduation, completion rates, employer satisfaction, hire rates, national certification pass rates, student satisfaction, and others. Monitors and assesses indicators of student and faculty achievement. Works with faculty and staff to analyze data every semester and annually. Reports findings to faculty/staff and student body. Makes recommendations for budget resources, curricular changes and other program revisions to appropriate committees, Assistant Dean of APRN, and the Dean. Develops, implements, evaluates and advances educational, scholarly, and public service activities involving PMHNP initiatives in the community. Creates, implements, and evaluates recruitment events for the PMHNP program in conjunction with recruitment team. Serves as a member of CGN strategic planning committee and philanthropy committee to secure external funding (grants, foundations, gifts). Participates in grant writing to expand resources as PI or co-PI and participates as project investigator for foundation, community, and federal grants. Key Responsibilities – Human Resource Management Participates in screening and selection of faculty and staff. Develops programs to retain qualified faculty and staff. Ensures ongoing faculty and staff development programs; orients and mentors faculty/preceptors and teaching assistants. Participates in annual reviews of faculty and staff as appropriate. Key Responsibilities – Student Development/Services Encourages student involvement in evaluation and development of the College’s academic program. Facilitates communication between administration, faculty and students to foster a culture of mutual respect and professionalism. Represents faculty and administrators at student events. Assists with admissions interviews and ongoing recruitment efforts for the college. Administers standards for academic performance, progression and student conduct. Advocates for learner-centered educational approaches and ensures resources needed for successful student learning and professional development. Key Responsibilities – Teaching Teaches the didactic and clinical portions of the curriculum, per approved content area. May assist with PMHNP Master’s or Doctoral projects. Other Responsibilities Assists with continuous quality improvement for the PMHNP Curriculum and conducts a year-end review of all activities. Participates in institutional and college committees and faculty development. Represents the College of Graduate Nursing at meetings with professional and educational associations, governmental agencies, hospitals, and other health care organizations.
