This position is assigned to the Recreation Division; Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). This position is responsible for the control and accomplishment of management functions associated with the administration, management, operation, and utilization of the Marina facilities and assets.
Knowledge of boating terminology, watercraft operation and maintenance, water and boating safety, handling of boats (launching, mooring, and storage), boating equipment and facilities, and recreational boating activities
Knowledge of military MWR and Non- Appropriated Fund (NAF) procurement, personnel, and funding
Knowledge of NAF Budgeting and activity level financial management
Knowledge of asset and inventory management
Knowledge of managing customer storage contracts and recurring billing
Skill in promoting, scheduling, and managing recreational boating activities, such as fishing tournaments, sailing regattas, and other special events
Ability to direct the work of the other employees, monitor performance, and assure adequate internal control procedures are developed and operative
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Ability to perform minor boat and marina maintenance (e.g., changing batteries, scraping and cleaning boat bottoms, painting, varnishing boats, repairing piers and decking and replacing floats)
Ability to tow disabled boats
Ability to operate a personal computer and perform basic word processing and spreadsheet tasks using Microsoft and site- specific software
Ability to develop and effectively deliver presentations and/or training
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
